Once the arms of the cradle were completed, I moved onto the telephone itself, starting out with a simple cylinder that I extruded and manipulated so that the complete shape of the handset was finished.
From here, it was a simple case of making two cylinders and extruding them so that the earpiece and mouthpiece were created. The simplicity of the ear piece made it easier to make, but the mouthpiece wasn't overly complicated either. I ended up using two different cylinders for the mouthpiece and then connecting them.
Once that was completed I moved onto the dial, using large, flat cylinder as the base and extruding up and in, creating the bevelled edge, as well as a flat surface that I could remove to insert the finger holes. Those were created by instancing a cylindrical shape that I'd made before lowering them into the empty space, making sure the top was at the same level as the cylinder, and connecting them to each other and the edges, removing the empty space and making the object a single item.
